The more involved parents are in their children’s learning, the more successful they will be at MILC. However, parental involvement also enhances your family life. There are many ways parents can be involved in their children’s learning:
- Talk with your children each day about learning and what they are doing in school.
- Read with your children each day. Allow them to see that reading is fun, enjoyable, and beneficial.
- Assist your children with homework – ensure there is ample time each day to complete it all
- Show your child that you value education and enjoy visiting the school each week
- Get to know your child’s principal and teachers. Visit them in the school office and establish a good relationship. Have your child present.
- Children will naturally make friends at school. Meet your child’s friends and get to know their parents too.
- Share your time and talents by volunteering at the school yourself.
Volunteering is one way to help support our school and all of our students. Not all volunteer tasks need to be done at the school, or even during the day. No matter how much or how little time and resources you have, every bit of help is greatly appreciated. Note that not all tasks (as part of volunteering) need to be done on school premises. Inquire with the school and Makki Masjid management if interested.
